This is a small 9" x 12" palette painting. It is a scene from rural Illinois where I live and in the summer I ride my bike out into the surrounding farmland, generally 10-20 miles a day. The beauty of the midwestern landscape is something that is often overlooked, but it is the landscape that I love.
Martha Iler is primarily a self-taught realist painter who enjoys doing portraiture, figurative work and still life. "Corn Perspective"
![]() |
| Acrylic on gallery wrapped canvas, 20' x 20" $400.00 |
Because I live in Illinois, the superabundance of corn cannot be understated. One day, while looking at it from a new perspective, I realized that one should paint what one knows and so, I decided to undertake a few "Corn Perspectives" This is the smallest of 4 that I have done, and the only one left. It is a view from below, looking up into the sky.
